Robert Rodriguez Won’t Get Any Tax Breaks for Making a Guy Swing on His Own Intestines in Machete

Citing "inappropriate content or content that portrays Texas or Texans in a negative fashion," the Texas Film Commission has rejected Robert Rodriguez's request for tax incentives for Machete, which, yes, features a guy swinging on his own intestines (also: a corrupt, immigrant-murdering Texas politician). This is pretty awkward considering that back in 2009 Texas Governor Rick Perry announced the state's initiative to provide incentive for movie shoots at Rodriguez's Troublemaker Studios. Apparently, Texas Governor Rick Perry is not familiar with the concept of "no backsies." [StudioBriefing via Movieline]
