Spider-Man Actress Gets a Concussion

Natalie Mendoza, the actress who plays eight-legged villain Arachne in Broadway's Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, will rest up until at least next Tuesday owing to a concussion she suffered at Sunday's first preview when "she was struck in the head by a rope holding a piece of equipment." Despite her injury, director Julie Taymor allowed her to perform in Wednesday's preview, a matter that the Actor's Equity union is now "looking into." Jeez. [ArtsBeat/NYT]
