Will Charlie Sheen’s Problems Force a Sitcom Shutdown?

Things are not going so well for Charlie Sheen right now. The Two and a Half Men star lost a visible amount of weight over the winter hiatus — perhaps as much as 25 pounds — and was holed up all weekend in Las Vegas, slamming shots and consorting with porn stars, according to TMZ. Deadline says that CBS has attempted to shut down the highly rated sitcom so that Sheen can get help, but the star refuses to go to rehab and has retained bulldog lawyer Marty Singer as muscle in case the show doesn't go on. (And if prior experience is any indication, it will, which raises the question: Is CBS trying to save the troubled actor, or enabling him?) [Deadline, TMZ]
