If you’re worried about Conan O’Brien, you probably shouldn’t be, but that didn’t stop David Letterman from ringing him over the holidays to take his temperature. “It was just a quick call,” O’Brien told reporters during a set visit today. “We hadn’t spoken in a long time. He said I haven’t checked in on you and want to make sure we’re good. I said, ‘We’ve always been good.’ I said he didn’t owe me a call, but I appreciate it.” In fact, O’Brien’s self-confidence is just great, thanks to devoted audiences who still chant “Conan! Conan!” at his shows: “[It] has a Stalin-esque feel about it. It’s fun to be Mussolini for five minutes.” [Inside TV/EW]
