Says lead producer Stephen Hendel: “We’re in the process of trying to make arrangements to do so. No Broadway show has ever been to Nigeria in this fashion. It’s premature to announce anything, but it’s our hope to bring the show there soon.” The show, which just closed on Broadway, is of course set in the country’s capital of Lagos, specifically at Fela’s nightclub the Shrine. Hendel is aiming for later winter or early spring for the show to make its move. If he pulls it off, which show on Broadway will be next in line for the trend? Probably The Addams Family.
