MTV Tells Skins to Tone It Down

Skins has only aired one episode, but MTV execs are already concerned that the series may violate federal child pornography statutes. They've already taken steps to censor the show's third episode, which prominently features the nude butt of 17-year-old actor Jesse Carere, and centers on his character, Chris, taking erectile-dysfunction pills. The series features actors between the ages of 15 and 19, and characters regularly engage in consequence-free sex and drug use, so not surprisingly, the conservative Parents Television Council has called Skins the “most dangerous program that has ever been foisted on your children.” [NYT]
