Patti Smith Writing a Mystery Novel

Patti Smith is following up her National Book Award–winning memoir Just Kids with a mystery. Speaking to the Royal Geographic Society last night in London, she said, "For the last two years ... I've been working on a detective story that starts at St Giles-in-the-Fields in London" that is 68 percent finished. Fingers crossed the crime involves London's rock scene, and readers are regaled with thinly veiled tales about Mick Jagger, Sid Vicious, and Elvis Costello. [Guardian UK]
