With each new piece of information about Rock of Ages, Adam Shankman’s movie adaptation of the Broadway jukebox musical starring Tom Cruise, we simultaneously become less convinced it will actually come off, and more and more hopeful that somehow, magically, it will. Two new wacky tidbits for today: Russell Brand may be joining a cast that already includes Alec Baldwin and Mary J. Blige to do a duet of REO Speedwagon’s “Fight This Feeling” with Baldwin. And while this may not come as a surprise to anyone familiar with the musical, Cruise’s big number will be Bon Jovi’s “Wanted Dead or Alive.” It’s like Glee with middle-aged dudes! [Deadline]
