Britney Spears Didn’t Make That Much Money From All the Product Placement in Her New Video

Product placement in the “Hold It Against Me” video — which includes gratuitous shots of perfume bottles, makeup containers, and, best of all, PlentyOfFish.com — landed Britney $500,000. Seems kind of low, right? That might cover the video’s budget, but if you’re going so far as to feature lesser dating websites, wouldn’t you hold out for a bit more? There’s also this Katy Perry tweet from last week, which sounds like a shot at “Hold It Against Me”: “do [product placement] w/style & grace … Not so in ur face like some. U hv to get creative w/it. Some artists don’t care tho, & u can tell.” First: Beef! Second: Accept the fact that we are now at a point where product placement is only unseemly if it is not done “w/ style & grace.” [TMZ]
