All aflush with Oscar glow, sure winner Colin Firth and nominee Nicole Kidman have both signed on to appear in Stoker, a movie about a mother and daughter visited by the girl’s strange uncle. The film already has a promising pedigree: Wentworth Miller, the star of Prison Break, wrote the script (and used Hitchcock’s Shadow of a Doubt as inspiration); it will be Korean director Chan Wook-Park’s (Old Boy) English-language debut; and Mia Wasikowska is playing the daughter. Wasikowska and Kidman should make for one of the palest mother-daughter duos in cinematic history. [24 Frames/LAT]
