Kid Cudi Dissolves His Record Label, Splits From Partners

Dream On, the record label Kid Cudi launched in 2009 with partners Patrick “Plain Pat” Reynolds and producer Emile Haynie, distributed through Universal Motown via a partnership with Kanye West’s G.O.O.D., has been dissolved. “Dream on is over,” Cudi tweeted over the weekend. “New label announcement soon. Pat and Emile are doing their own thing. I have a diff vision, for music, for the world. im just doing the right thing. people lose sight of the mission. cant expect everyone to be built like me. cant expect people to have the same morals as me. the new label will be formed with @DotDaGenius.” Cudi also recently tweeted that he's cutting people out: "new number, new email, starting fresh. lettin go of all things holding me back, if u have my contacts, dont hit them after today." Emotional, that one. [RapFix/MTV]
