Ratings Trouble for Oprah Winfrey's OWN

After two months in existence, Oprah's heavily hyped new network, OWN, is attracting even fewer viewers than Discovery Health, the little-known station it replaced on the dial. An average of 135,000 people watching OWN, says Nielsen, and only a third of that are women ages 25 to 54, the target demo. The only ratings success story was Ask Oprah’s All-Stars, starring Dr. Oz, Dr. Phil, and Suze Orman, while the biggest flop was Your OWN Show (sorry, Zach Anner!). Winfrey is urging patience until she shows up on the channel more often, when The Oprah Winfrey Show ends in September, and she can make everything okay again. [NYT]
