Remake fever is in the air! Just hours after we learned about Paramount’s Jean-Ralphio-written redo of Soapdish, Deadline broke the news that WB is going to mount a second take on The Bodyguard, where an Iraq war veteran must protect a world-famous singer in the age of TMZ and camera-phones. Since natural first choice Beyoncé is already booked for WB’s remake of A Star is Born, who would you cast in the roles originated by Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston? Could Sam Worthington and Rihanna do it? Would Taylor Lautner and Taylor Swift put their past behind them for a younger take? Or would producers listen to us, and cast eccentrically with Idris Elba and Lady Gaga? (We can already envision the Gaga/Elba poster, and we like it.) Which potential partnerships are we missing?
