Breaking Dawn’s Budget: $200 Million More Than Eclipse

For a series that pulls in as much money as Twilight, Summit has always done a remarkable job of keeping budgets down: The most recent sequel, Eclipse, cost only $68 million and brought in almost $700 million worldwide. To close out the franchise, however, Summit has decided to pull out all the stops, and the Wrap is reporting that the entire Breaking Dawn project will cost $263 million, a massive cash influx allocated to two films (the first installment, due this November, is budgeted at $127 million, while Breaking Dawn — Part Two will cost $136 million), considerably heightened star salaries (the three leads are reportedly taking home $25 million each), and, hopefully, one hilarious and amazing vampire baby.
