We've already run through the gamut of emotions with Bridesmaids, and the movie isn't even out yet. First, we thrilled to the idea of a female-dominated comedy populated by Groundlings alums, Jon Hamm, and Chris O'Dowd, and we only got more excited when we saw that excellent first poster. Then, the teaser trailer came out ... and the movie suddenly looked a little run-of-the-mill. And hey, quirky movies often get flattened out by trailers, but still, our faith was shaken. Luckily, Bridesmaids is back on an upswing: The movie was riotously received at South by Southwest this week, and now, the second trailer plays much better and includes a sense of humor that's appreciably out-there. Yes, it's also got some of the things we're wary of in other movies (most notably Something Borrowed), including female rivalry, single women ashamed of their status, and a pivotal wedding, but in the end, we think we're over our quick bout of cold feet.
