Two weeks ago, we roundly mocked industry chatter that somehow, Justin Bieber: Never Say Never could ever score an Oscar nod next year for Best Documentary Feature. Perhaps we spoke too soon, though, as Jason Bateman appeared today on Regis & Kelly and praised Never Say Never as a “great movie,” called it “very touching,” and admitted, “About midway through the movie, I’m bawling like a little schoolgirl.” (Taste the sad, Michael.) Kelly Ripa said that she and her husband had the same reaction, but Regis Philbin was appalled, his heart of stone unmoved by all the Biebz had to offer (including beautiful hair, Usher, and a Segway). Take note, Justin: You’re really going to have to woo those older voters.
