Josh Hutcherson Eyeing the Male Hunger Games Lead

Kids Are All Right cutie Josh Hutcherson was a contender for last year's hot role, the lead in Marc Webb's Spider-Man, but he lost the part to Andrew Garfield. Now he's up for the lead in the Hunger Games adaptation, and he won't let this one slip through his fingers. The actor read an old version of the script and had meetings with director Gary Ross, EW reports, and he's now "waiting with bated breath" to find out if he landed the part of Peeta. “I love Peeta," he said. "The character is so much who I am — self deprecating, a people person. And he’d be such a great character to play! Like in the third book? Oh my God.” Translation: Cast meeee! [InsideMovies/EW]
