As recently as a few weeks ago, Lupe Fiasco was sad. His album Lasers was finally coming out after a long and contentious battle with his record label, Atlantic, and all that pent-up aggression was spilling out during the promotional cycle. Speaking to Vulture, Lupe let it all go: "To be blunt, I don't really give a fuck. I've grown very distant from the business, very numb to it ... I don't really care about the success anymore. I don't really care about the fame. Three, four years later, I look at my bank account statements, and I haven't made any money with my record label. You start to think a little bit differently about your motivations and why you're doing what you're doing." Now, though — with Lasers selling 204,000 copies in its first week and topping the Billboard "Hot 100," as expected — Lupe isn't sad anymore. He got on Twitter to disjointedly express his appreciation for the accomplishment, referencing his suicidal thoughts and the fan protests that were held outside the Atlantic offices for Lasers' release, and Rap Radar helpfully threaded the tweets together:

The lesson here? Next time you have a friend who's down in the dumps, maybe try to get their embattled album to debut at No. 1?
