A funny thing happened over the last few months, as Simon Cowell endlessly teased who might be judging his fall singing competition, The X Factor: A lot of the best people got taken. American Idol managed to remake itself by adding Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler, while NBC's spring series The Voice went one better with big names Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, and Adam Levine. Cowell has supposedly been in talks with people like Jessica Simpson, Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger, and George Michael to join his show, but can any of those potential judges outdo the stars that Cowell's competition has landed? The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Island Def Jam chairman L.A. Reid is the first X Factor acquisition to be added to the judges' table (with two more on the way); now that Cowell's significance has been minimized by an Idol season doing so well without him, the pressure is on.
