Basically every major music figure has a rumored biopic in some level of development, so it's always surprising to hear about one that actually seems to be going down. Like this Sam Cooke biopic, for one, which now has a completed script: Dick Clement and Ian Le Frenais have finished their adaptation of Peter Guralnick's Dream Boogie: The Triumph of Sam Cook and ABKCO, which owns Cooke's music, is now looking for a director for the project. Explains ABKCO C.E.O. Jody Klein: "All of the elements have aligned themselves ... We have secured rights from the Cooke family. One of the benefits of being a private company is that it enables us the appropriate amount of time to develop the script and make this happen. It will not get lost." R. Kelly is going to be psyched.
