Ben Affleck is in talks to play the lead role in the 3-D film adaptation of The Great Gatsby, say sources close to the film. Bradley Cooper’s name was originally attached to the role of Tom Buchanan, but director Baz Luhrmann is said to be eying Affleck for the role. The character of Buchanan is that of a cheating, toolish cad, pitted against the winsome Jay Gatsby, who will be played by Leonardo DiCaprio. So maybe Affleck isn’t such a bad choice after all.
