Paramount Picks Up Anna Faris’s Stalker Comedy

Why can’t they just let Anna Farris be great? As promising as it is to hear that Anna Faris sold her stalker comedy to Paramount, those who read Faris’s New Yorker profile know that the Smiley Face star had originally pitched the idea with herself as the stalker, rather than the stalkee. As the film stands now, Faris would play a character getting Single White Female’d by her roommate from hell; the pitch idea was reportedly based on a “funny incident that happened to her in real life.” Ugh, how excellent would Anna be as a glassy-eyed sociopath? We as a society are more than happy to see Anna Faris in a role that might make viewers not immediately want to sleep with her, right? Right? Come on, people!
