Patton Oswalt Will Play an Artist in a Supernatural Thriller

Patton Oswalt, comedian and proud geek, has been cast in the supernatural thriller Odd Thomas, alongside Anton Yelchin. Adapted from a bestselling Dean R. Koontz novel of the same name, the movie will be directed by Stephen Sommers, the man behind The Mummy and G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. Oswalt will play the similarly named Oswald "Ozzie" P. Boone, "an eccentric artist who designs sculptures, including a steel pendant that the titular clairvoyant hero wears around his neck." Willem Dafoe and Nico Tortorella are in talks to join the cast. Sounds delightfully strange. [Variety]
