Bryan Cranston Joins Rock of Ages
Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston will play the mayor of Los Angeles in Rock of Ages, Adam Shankman's celebrity-stacked adaptation of the Broadway musical. Cranston's mayor is married to "an Anita Bryant-like advocate who wants to ban rock and roll," played by the bipolar Catherine Zeta-Jones. Cranston's and Zeta-Jones's roles were created specifically for the movie. Cranston will also be acting alongside half of Hollywood: Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, Mary J. Blige, Russell Brand, Paul Giamatti, Diego Boneta, and Julianne Hough are all confirmed for the film. [Deadline, HR]
