Last week’s GOOP, Gwyneth Paltrow’s oft-maligned lifestyle newsletter, offered a handy guide on starting your own vegetable patch — complete with photos of Gwynnie’s backyard garden. (She grows her own kale, naturally). Some eagle-eyed readers noticed a plant labeled salvia in the photos and, remembering Miley Cyrus’s recent experimentation, hastily assumed that our gal might be growing some feel-good weed just left of the mint. Well, Vulture is here to set the record straight: salvia is the genus name for sage; salvia officinalis is the culinary herb; and salvia divinorum is the psychotropic plant that made Miley chant “You look like my boyfriend” to a roomful of strangers. It's just kitchen sage! But if anyone out there is getting high on sage-crusted pork chops, feel free to share.
