When Jennifer Lawrence was cast as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games, so many fans of the book were up in arms about the actress’s blonde tresses that director Gary Ross had to explicitly assure them that she would dye her hair for the role. Now that she has — and has quelled some of her doubters — Lawrence admits she’s just now finding out about that initial reaction. “The internet to me is kind of like a black hole, and I never really go on it,” she told MTV. “I wasn’t aware that everybody was so upset until I after I got my hair dyed, and people were like, ‘Oh my gosh, blond hair can turn brown. Wow. It’s a miracle!’ Now is the only time that I’m being told that people hated me at first.” [MTV]
