Jennifer Lopez Outsold by Beastie Boys, Fleet Foxes

Jennifer Lopez is in the middle of a career comeback thanks to her stint judging American Idol, but did that TV magic rub off on her recording career? Yes … and no. Her new album Love?, supported by the hit single On the Floor, debuted at No. 5 on the charts this week with around 80,000 copies sold — an improvement from her last album, Brave, but nowhere near the several hundred thousand records her biggest albums have sold during their debut weeks. Lopez was topped on the charts by a strong No. 4 bow from the Fleet Foxes album Helplessness Blues, the deathless Now That’s What I Call Music series at No. 3, the Beastie Boys album Hot Sauce Committee, Pt. 2 in the second slot, and Adele’s 21, which continues its domination at No. 1.
