Patti LuPone improvised a line in her upcoming cameo on Glee’s New York–set season finale. The scene, in Sardi’s, features Rachel accosting her idol, who graciously tells her never to give up on her dream. On the day of the shoot, though, LuPone gave it a little something extra: “After a handful of run-throughs, LuPone seems to improvise a salutation: Looking at Finn, she whispers to Rachel, ‘He’s cute.’ And then heads for the door. Michele approves: ‘I like that! Ryan, I like that,’ she says to Murphy. The line stays.” Of course the line stays. When Patti LuPone gives you a line, you keep that line! [HR]
