More evidence that young-adult fiction is booming: 50 Cent is getting in on the action! The rapper/3-D-sunglasses mogul/comedy-website entrepreneur/Things Fall Apart star has penned a semiautobiographical novel called Playground, which will follow a 13-year-old who must atone for his bullying ways. “This book would have been very helpful for me growing up and now that I have a teenage son, it is my goal that this will have a positive influence on all teenagers,” said 50 in a statement. The book is due out in January, which will give 50 plenty of time to unintentionally promote it by starting beefs with other rappers. [MTV]
