Gwen Stefani hasn’t released an album with No Doubt since 2001’s Rock Steady, but after reuniting with the band two years ago, she’s ready to put her solo career on ice. “That was a moment in time,” she told EW this week, looking back at the period where she recorded her own albums, Love. Angel. Music. Baby. and The Sweet Escape. “It went on a little longer than we all thought it would, because it was inspired and you have to go with wherever you’re at in that time in your life … everything works out how it should.” What exactly Stefani has cooked up since with No Doubt is unclear, but the band is teasing a major announcement coming on Friday. (By the way, we just heard “What You Waiting For?” for the first time in years the other day, and it is still the jam. Good work, Gwen.) [Music Mix/EW]
