Is Lil B’s I’m Gay a Good Thing?

As Vulture has previously pointed out, Lil B didn't quite have the cajones to stick with his original I'm Gay album title: Disappointingly, the BasedGod added a parenthetical (I'm Happy) to the title, blunting the impact. But he has made his intentions clear in the past, telling Vulture, "There are some bridges and gaps that we as a people need to close. It takes a person to be brave enough to do that and wake people up. I wanted to be that first artist to be brave enough to do it for the people. In 100 years, people will look back and appreciate it." One had to wonder, though, what exactly Lil B's intentions were. GLAAD's statement summed things up nicely: "We hope that Lil B’s album title is not just a gimmick, and is really a sincere attempt to be an ally. He has the platform and the voice. We hope he uses it in a positive way.” Anyway, ladies and gentlemen, Lil B's I'm Gay is now available on iTunes. So, do you appreciate the effort? Or are Lil B's efforts misguided?
