By

In celebration of what might or may not be their 1,000th issue (Says head writer Seth Reiss, “Since we say it is, it is.”), The Onion’s Pulitzer Prize campaign kicks off with a full-page ad from the Americans for Fairness in Awarding Journalism Prizes, or AFAJP if your wrist is tired from cutting all those letters out of magazines. Joining AFAJP in lobbying for The Onion’s first Pulitzer is a host of celebrity supporters, including Tom Hanks, Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili and Gayle King. And if Hanx and Oprah’s right hand woman want something done, the ignorant, negligent swine on the Pulitzer committee should take heed.
