When Weird Al Yankovic sent his spoof song “Perform This Way” to Lady Gaga’s management team back in April, her handlers vetoed the parody, then relented and allowed it after fans accused Gaga of weird-on-weird malfeasance. Since then, Yankovic reports that things have only gotten better: Gaga’s team has now allowed him to parody “Poker Face” in his upcoming medley called … you guessed it … “Polka Face.” Also coming in for the Weird Al treatment on his upcoming album are Taylor Swift (whose “You Belong With Me” becomes “TMZ”) and Miley Cyrus (“Party in the U.S.A.” is now “Party in the CIA”). What, no Rebecca Black spoof? (Though we suppose it’s entirely possible that her “Friday” is its own parody already.) [Reuters]
