Stage Collapses During Cheap Trick Performance

During Cheap Trick's performance at the Ottawa Bluesfest over the weekend, a severe weather storm caused the stage to collapse while the band was performing, making concertgoers freak out and flee. (The band was reportedly playing "I Want You to Want Me" moments before it happened!) Thankfully, no one in the band or in the audience was seriously hurt. "Everyone is shaken up but band and crew are all fine," Cheap Trick said in a statement on its website. One reporter at the concert described the scene as "the longest few minutes of my life," saying "people were running around the grounds like chickens with their heads cut off." The photos and video from the show are completely terrifying. We're certainly glad no one was hurt! Though many concertgoers must have been disappointed to have the Cheap Trick show cut short, because, well, watch this video of the band's performance at Budokan. Awesome. In any case, the band's next concert, following this event, should be excellent. [Ottawa Citizen]
