Last year, with hopes high for rising star Alex Pettyfer, DreamWorks signed the actor to a biopic where he’d play British racing legend James Hunt … and then Pettyfer’s I Am Number Four underperformed and both the actor and the project lost some of their heat (though Pettyfer did recently snag the lead in Steven Soderbergh’s new indie). But fear not! This cinematic year produced another accented blond hunk to take Pettyfer’s place behind the wheel: Chris Hemsworth. Deadline reports that the Thor star will play Hunt in a competing project, Rush, which Ron Howard will direct next year now that The Dark Tower has been tabled. Bicep upgrade! [Deadline]
