Cults Are Releasing a Hip-Hop Mix Tape

Indie-pop duo Cults, who released their well-received self-titled debut earlier this year (and then talked to Vulture about it), are planning an ambitious project. Take it away, guitarist Brian Oblivion: "We're working on a hip hop mixtape of the album. Like, changing all the songs up and getting up and coming rappers, guys like Freddie Gibbs and Lil B and stuff. That's gonna be really exciting. We've been dealing with a lot of really bizarre managers ... interesting personalities." That could either be terrible or great! By the way: Later in the same interview, the band talks about Jim Jones, but the cult leader, not the rapper, and that's kind of confusing. [Spinner]
