Examining the Effects of the ‘Colbert Bump’

The Chicago Tribune has a new, lengthy article on the “Colbert Bump,” which they define as “a megaphone of influence, shouted by a comedian with a keen ethical compass who plays a blowhard with no ethical compass and hopes the audience gets the difference.” It’s an interesting look at how Colbert has the ability to focus an intense amount of attention, either positive or negative, on the causes of his choosing.
