Jarvis Cocker Is Releasing a Lyrics Book

Coinciding with the Pulp reunion is the announcement of Jarvis Cocker’s first collection of lyrics. Mother, Brother, Lover: Selected Lyrics will be out October via Faber and Faber; there’s no word on what kind of annotations will be going down, but one assumes some extras will be packed in. Faber released an interview along with the announcement, in which Jarvis explains that his lyrical breakthrough came about by falling “from a window and being in hospital for about a month … my gaze shifted to the normal everyday things, things that I thought ‘oh that’s too everyday to be bothered with’ … I had the realization that that’s actually what I was quite interested in … I was interested in how people lived their lives because I didn’t have a clue how to live mine.” [Quietus via Pitchfork]
