MTV Giving Dumb Girls a Pilot

Lauren Iungerich.

MTV’s rekindled interest in scripted television shows no signs of fading: The network has just given Dumb Girls — a half-hour comedy from Lauren Iungerich, whose scripted dramedy Awkward debuted on MTV nary a fortnight ago — a pilot. Unfortunately for Jurassic Park fans, Dumb Girls is not about dim-witted velociraptors. No, that would be crazy. According to Deadline, the show “revolves around a group of twenty-somethings who are smart in life but dumb in love,” thus joining the likes of Lena Dunham’s HBO series Girls and the Kat Dennings–led CBS comedy Two Broke Girls for what’s shaping up to be one of television’s most lady-packed periods in recent memory. Fingers crossed that they’ll all be of higher quality than The Girlie Show TGS With Tracy Jordan. [Deadline]
