The New Spider-Man Trailer Feels Just Like a 2008 Hit Video Game

This morning, when we took a look at the first-person web-slinging sequence that climaxes the teaser trailer of The Amazing Spider-Man, we immediately thought of the 2008 video game Mirror’s Edge, a first-person, free-running adventure that sold over 2 million copies worldwide on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. For further scrutiny, we’ve placed the Spidey sequence side by side with a segment from the Mirror’s Edge trailer, and yup, they’re pretty similar. Watch as our two heroes scuttle over buildings, terrify nearby birds, and finish their run with a spectacular slow-motion leap into the abyss. Still, at least Spider-Man’s got one edge: Can Mirror’s Edge boast Emma Stone?
