Producer Mike Medavoy (Black Swan, License to Wed) has landed the movie rights to the story of the 33 trapped Chilean miners and has hired Jose Rivera (Motorcycle Diaries) to write the screenplay. Says one of the miners, Juan Andres Illanes: “One year after the collapse of the mine, we consider this to be a great step towards the realization of a film based on our experience in the mine.
