Posted on Craig Finn’s new Tumblr today: “The Hold Steady start writing for record #6 in September. Meanwhile, I’m down in Austin making a record with Mike McCarthy. This one is a solo project. Sunday was another great day in Austin: making music, hanging with friends, and swimming. Also, saw an amazing show by Centro-matic and Sarah Jaffe.” Craig Finn solo album! This is good news both for people who love the last few Hold Steady albums and want as much product as possible from Finn, and people who were kind of bummed by the last few Hold Steady albums and hope Finn will decide to make a return to the more verbose earlier stuff.
