Transformers Becomes Year’s Highest-Grossing Film

Michael Bay's Transformers: Dark of the Moon made another $47 million at the box office this weekend, bumping its cumulative earnings to $261 million. Beating Hangover 2 for the title, Transformers is now the highest-grossing film of the year, to date. During its debut weekend, R-rated comedy Horrible Bosses claimed second place, earning $28.1 million. Talking-animal movie Zookeeper took third, earning $21 million during its debut weekend. Cars 2 hung on to fourth, earning $15.2 million, bumping its cumulative earnings to $148.8 million. In fifth, Bad Teacher earned another $9 million, bumping its cumulative to $78.7 million.
