It turns out that Alec Baldwin’s mayoral run is not just a great excuse to peruse Jack Donaghy quotes on the company dime (“Stand outside in a crowd like some Italian? I don’t think so.”), it’s also a reality we can all look forward to…at some point. Once he takes a bow at 30 Rock, Baldwin tells the New York Times that he plans to go back to grad school in fall 2012 for a master’s in politics and government, to better prepare himself for a future election.
The NYT article is also jam-packed with insane gems that COULD be Jack quotes if they were slightly less absurd. For example, “He said it had helped him to live on the Upper West Side, rather than in a wealthier neighborhood. ‘It is more real,’ he said.” and “He has owned his home on the Upper West Side for more than two decades but is reluctantly leaving the neighborhood for a downtown location to be closer to his girlfriend, Hilaria Thomas, 27, who works at a yoga studio,” which, okay. However, you know what they say: “Ambition is the willingness to kill the things you love and eat them in order to stay alive,” So look out, down-to-earth residents of the UWS and yoga babies everywhere.
