Networks Bring Bewitched and Frankenstein to Life

With the success of Hawaii Five-0, CBS is looking to double down on nostalgia with another classic TV reboot. The network has reportedly ordered a script from Sony Pictures Television for a remake of the sixties sitcom Bewitched. Miss Congeniality screenwriter Marc Lawrence will produce the show along with Douglas Wick and Lucy Fisher, the husband-and-wife team responsible for the 2005 Nicole Kidman film remake. Meanwhile over at NBC, executives just inked a deal with House executive producers Russel Friend and Garrett Lerner to create a series based on Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. The novel has been adapted for film and television many times before, but the network says this version will be a modern-day take on the story. [THR, Inside TV/EW]
