Brad Pitt and director James Gray have wanted to work with each other for a while — the two almost mounted adventure drama The Lost City of Z last year (not to be confused with the zombie movie World War Z, which Pitt is currently shooting) — and now, it looks like they'll have the chance. Variety reports that Pitt and Gray are negotiating to come aboard an adaptation of Mark Greaney's novel The Gray Man, where Pitt will star as the world's greatest assassin, one with presumably fewer marital troubles than the professional hit man Pitt played in Mr. and Mrs. Smith. (And please don't confuse The Gray Man for The Grey — a "Liam Neeson vs. the wolves" movie coming out next year — or for Gray himself. Neutral shades are just having a moment right now.) [Variety]
