Deadline reports that Dakota Fanning has come aboard the Emma Thompson–scripted Effie, where she'll play 1850s teenager Euphemia Gray, who entered into a loveless marriage with famed British art critic John Ruskin (to be played by Thompson's husband, Greg Wise), yet found herself falling for his protégé, painter John Everett Millais (Tom Sturridge). Thompson herself will co-star as Lady Eastlake, who takes the girl in when the love triangle becomes too scandalous. Well, Elle Fanning can't have all the headlines. [Deadline]
