Donald Glover Gets A Shout-Out From Creator Of New Biracial Spider-Man

Technically speaking, Donald Glover’s Spider-Man campaign didn’t directly inspire the character of Miles Morales, the new half-black, half-Hispanic Spider-Man debuting tomorrow in Marvel’s Ultimate Fallout #4. However, seeing Glover in his Spider-Man jammies in Community’s season premiere last year convinced creator Brian Michael Bendis he was on to something great. “He looked fantastic!” Bendis says. “I saw him in the costume and thought, ‘I would like to read that book.’ So I was glad I was writing that book.” Apparently New Spidey is stepping into Peter Parker’s shoes following his untimely comic book death in June, rather than following one brave studio’s decision to skip directly to the next reboot. We all know they’re going to reboot it until the wheels fall off anyway! Bendis also gives Glover “mucho credit” for Miles Morales’ final look, because duh and yes and of course and forever and always.
