According to Richard Branson's blog, a fire destroyed much of his home on the private Necker Island early Monday morning. The Virgin chairman's twenty guests managed to escape the blaze unharmed, thanks in part to Kate Winslet, whom he credited with "helping to carry my 90 year mum out of the main house to safety." Is that more or less impressive than breaking up a New York City street brawl? Ryan Gosling argues "less!" (Everyone knows there can only be one Real-Life Hollywood Hero per day, and Gosling's not giving his title up without a fight, because that's just how he is.) [PopWatch/EW]
