Rebecca Francescatti (a Chicago-based singer you’ve never heard about) is suing Lady Gaga (a singer you’ve heard too much about) for allegedly copying the song “Judas.” Francescatti claims that Gaga’s song bears many similarities to her 1999 song “Juda.” “Though the songs are different styles, the composition is the same and the chorus is the same melody,” her lawyer, Chris Niro, told TMZ. “[Rebecca] is seeking recognition for what she created.” A possible big reason for the similarities: Brian Gaynor, who was in Fransecatti’s band, now works for the music company that wrote many of the songs for Born This Way.
